News | Pa Gya: Ghana’s Literary Festival That Ignites Passion In Literary Arts


A 3-Day Literary Festival of  Writers Project of Ghana and the Goethe-Institut has drawn nearer. According to available information from the organizers, the festival which holds between Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd October, 2017 will bring together special guest writers from Togo, Nigeria, Canada, South Africa and Ghana to give readings, lead workshop sessions, and participate in panel discussions during the festival.

Pa Gya! A literary Festival in Accra that ignites passion in the literary arts will hold on the premises of the Goethe-Institut, Accra, Ghana.

Top in the programme of events during the festival are conversation and poetry readings with Ama Ata Aidoo and Kobena Eyi Acquah.

Other prominent activities are the launching of the Abena Korantemaa Prize for Oral History and Chuma Nwokolo's new book, The Extinction of Menai.

The event’s workshops session will dwell on Literary Criticism, storytelling and performances.

Added to the beautification of the festival would also be bookstands to be set up by publishers and booksellers, as well as interactive sessions with publishers for prospective writers and book sellers. There will equally be readings, discussions and a special feature for comics.
