News | Lagos Biennial Releases Names Of Participating Artists.


Organizers of the inaugural edition of the Lagos Biennial have released the list of artists expected at the Biennial. After this maiden edition which holds from October 14 – November 22, 2017 , the Art festival will hold every two years in the city of Lagos with the primary aim of opening cultural, artistic, and political conversations from Lagos to the rest of the world.

The list, which comprised of Nigerian and international artists, is as follows:

According to Folakunle Oshun, the Artistic Director of the Lagos Biennial 2017, the vision of the festival “is not to mystify or demystify, but rather to embark on a journey to explore multi-faceted scenarios which will undoubtedly question the very essence of our humanity, spirituality, and the interconnectedness of the universe.”
