News | Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria Hosts A Webtoon
The
Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria will tomorrow, Wednesday, 23 August 2017, host a
Korean webtoon between the hours of 4pm – 7pm at the Centre in Abuja. Webtoon
is a term used to describe the South Korean webcomics. They are animated cartoons
or series of comic strips published online.
The
Centre describes Korean webtoons as a national, cultural and economic
phenomenon with one of the reasons driving it being the well-developed Korean IT
industry that has given rise to a variety of platforms that facilitate the
creation, consumption and distribution of this digital content.
At
the webtoon event tomorrow, there will be pictures of the drawings with blanked
out dialogues and people get to fill in the blanks by writing what they think
the characters are saying. At the end, the most creative ones will win prizes.
Admission
is free and the event is kid friendly.
