Call for Entries | Abuja Literary Festival Drama Workshop

The Abuja Writers Forum is seeking submissions from potential playwrights aged between 18- 35 who would like to take part in the five-day drama workshop during the Abuja Literary Festival, June 28-30, 2018. The five-day workshop (June 25- 29, 2018), will be facilitated by two experienced theatre practitioners.

The workshop is part of a strategy to encourage the development of new qualitative play scripts. There will be space for only 25 participants and we encourage students in the tertiary institutions within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to participate. The workshop is non-residential, so participants must arrange for accommodation within the period if they are not resident in Abuja.

How to Apply

Please submit:

- A ten-minute play (ten pages long) on any subject matter. 

- Submit your typed ten-page entry to abujawriters@gmail.com.

- Include a separate page listing full contact details such as postal and email addresses and daytime    

  phone number

- No alterations may be made to an entry once it is submitted.

- No entry will be returned, so ensure you have a copy of your entry.

- Entries should be in English.

- Only one entry per writer is allowed. 

- The entry must be the writer’s original work, unproduced or published anywhere.

- Use standard play script formatting. 

- Also include a valid age certification document.

- Closing date for entries is 22nd May, 2018.
