Call for entries: The Produire au Sud Nantes workshop 2019: Festival Des 3 Continents

Deadline: July 26, 2019 As the Festival des 3 Continents holds in Nantes, France later this year, within it is the Produire au Sud  workshop that would focus on the outline and structure of co-production within the film industry. The workshop aims to familiarize young professionals based in Africa, Latin America, and Asia with a variety of important tools and international co-production techniques by coaching individual projects in development. Each year, the programme, which lasts 7 days, works with international and European film professionals as resource persons and workshop trainers. Film Producers from the 3 continents of Latin America, Africa, Asia are paired with a director who currently develops a feature fiction project. Workshop dates: 15-18 July 2019 Intermediate and established writers based on the African continent with an idea for a new short story that needs time, space and feedback to develop further are invited to apply for the Saseni!/Hargeysa International Book Fair four-day writing workshop focused on the short story form and facilitated by Nadifa Mohamed and Billy Kahora. Writers will have the opportunity for the stories they work on to be part of the first Saseni! anthology of short fiction which will be published by Huza Press in 2020. The workshop will offer a series of daily sessions focused on craft, which will explore character, plot and writing’s relationship to place and language, as well as the practicalities of drafting, revising and editing. APPLICATION DEADLINE : Sunday, 7th July 2019 (23:59 GMT +0) The Goethe-Institut/ Bureau de liaison Ouagadougou is setting up a  writer's residency for young African writers (less than 40 years) in 2019/20 in Burkina Faso. This residency program aims to give a platform for free expression - to writers who project the vision of (another) future in their writings, - to writers who have restrictions of expression in their country of origin, - to activist writers who express themselves in relation to social and/ or political transformations and challenges in their countries. The Arts-Muse Fair  calls for application for the first edition of its Creative Writing Workshop.  The workshop will hold on the 30th of October at the Niger State Book & Other Intellectual Resources Development Agency, Minna, Niger state, Nigeria. It will comprise of a Poetry session to be facilitated by Saddiq M Dzukogi, and a Creative nonfiction writing session to be facilitated by Amatesiro Dore. Both sessions will hold simultaneously at different halls and so applicants can only apply for one. Each class will take only 20 participants.  The event will open with an Open Mic session before workshops begin. Applicants are required to send writing samples alongside a short bio.
