Call For Entries | Fitrah Essay Writing Competition 2017 | Fitrah-Australia


Fitrah invites entries from African-Australian youth for its 2017 Essay Writing Competition.  Fitrah is a non-profit organization in Victoria, Australia. It aims to empower individuals, particularly the women, children and young people from culturally and linguistically disadvantaged background to explore and maximize their potentials and contribute to the society in which they live. Therefore, essay Writing Competition is a component of one of the Fitrah's annual events.

This year's programme is scheduled to hold on 25th November, 2017.
The topic for the competition is “African-Australian Youth: Victors? Villains? Victims?”

Entry Rules:
-          One entry per person
-          Past competitors can also enter
-          Entries must be written in English Language, typed in Times New Roman or Arial font and single line spaced.
-          Minimum of 700 words count and maximum of 1, 500 words count respectively.
-           “Fitrah Essay Writing Competition 2017” should be the subject line of the email. However, name of entrant, school, level, contact address, email, parent or guardian’s telephone number, entry category and essay title should be written in the body of the email.
-          Entry should be sent as a word attachment with the name of the competition, entry category, essay title and word count as its heading.

Important Note:
Entrant should not put his or her details on the essay.
Competition is open to African-Australian Grade 6 and Secondary school students in Victoria, Australia.
Entries will not be returned to competitors and Fitrah reserves the right to the final judgement on submitted entries.

Closing date:
Acceptance of submissions closes on 7 October, 2017. Any entry sent in after the deadline will not be considered.

Award and prizes:
Awards and prizes will be given to the best three entries and high commendable entries.

Eligibility:
Only African-Australian Students in Grade 6 and Secondary Schools in Victoria.
Categories:
Category A: Grade 6
Category B:  year 7 – 9
Category C:  year 10 – 12

Fee: entry is free
